The 2019 - 2020 school year will be the first year my school has a program specific for students with Autism. I am starting off with a blank slate and want to create a safe and welcoming room for my kiddos as they enter the 7th and 8th grades. Funding of this project will help me in providing a sensory / calming area within our Social Skills classroom for students in need. The padded floor mat and padded wall pads will be used to provide a soft base to the sensory area of the classroom. Flexible seating options will be made available to students both in my classroom and the classrooms that the students will be traveling to throughout the day attending general education classes.
