I am a first year teacher with limited classroom resources. I am teaching a K-2 class in a small, rural, Alaskan village. The children in this area do not get many opportunities to travel outside of their village. I am asking for help to expand the classroom library to allow the students to "travel" through reading. I am requesting four different book packs and subscriptions to Scholastic News for my students. Your donation to our classroom library means that these students will have greater exposure to literacy activities and the joy that reading brings. The opportunity a larger classroom library will give these students will help greatly in, not only expanding their horizons and imagination, but also supporting their growth in reading and comprehension skills.
