I am grateful that my kids love a challenge, and are willing to dive into anything I put in front of them. One of the challenges I had though was creating an authentic practice for them. For example, although I want them to produce essays like a college student, it's hard to actually accomplish that and bring it to life if they don't actually have computers where they can type. Or if I want them to act as researchers and develop and find answers to their own questions, but without internet access, that becomes a challenge. They have the determination but lack the resources to act on it. I know for sure that having these computers will help accelerate the growth that my kids were able to make and perform on par with their peers.
