In a 21st Century Classroom, it is important to keep up with the latest Technology. I would love to see the students use the Mimio Teach Board everyday. It wouldn't just be a white board, it would be an interactive board used for classroom instruction and classroom collaboration between all of us everyday. I would also love to see the students come up to the board and show their peers what the right way of answering a problem should be or could be. It is important to always stay active in our learning no matter what the lesson is.
I know that my children will be more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a chance to use the interactive board everyday. Even given a simple task, like picking a flexible seating option for their Daily 5 Routine will spark their attention. We could also take a virtual field trip to another country in our classroom! There are so many lessons and activities kindergartners can do with a Mimio. The possibilities are endless!!
Seeing the students engaged with their learning will mean more to them now, than just sitting and listening to a teacher or peer. It keeps the students active and gives that inquiry based learning that I love seeing in my classroom every year. I love to sit back and watch the students become the teachers and that happens a lot when they are given this type of tool in the classroom.
