Many studies have successfully linked early childhood literacy to not only future academic success but to employability as adults as well. Students who read at school and at home have greater comprehension, larger vocabularies and perform higher on standardized tests. The importance of reading cannot be overstated. Your donations will allow me to purchase enough book bags for each child to be able to take books to and from school. With the bags, I will be able to make sure that every one of my students has access to enough reading materials that are on their independent reading level. By creating a link between the classroom and the home, my students will be able to learn and grow as readers which will set them up for future success.
