As a Speech and Language Pathologist, I am passionate about early intervention for my students. Early intervention gives us the most bang for our buck when it comes to lasting educational benefits. It also gives us a greater chance at closing the gap before it's too late. "Reading and writing float on a sea of talk." (James Britton) This is my favor quote, which exemplifies the importance of verbal language as a foundation for reading and writing development. This is something I think about daily as I work with my students. The Gifted Learning Flash Cards will help me provide early intervention by developing my students' verbal language skills.
