The workshop model is fundamental to teaching writing and reading in third grade. A key element to empowering students' learning and growth with the workshop model is sharing student work. The AVerVision document camera will allow the students to display their work while learning from one other. Students who present their work to their classmates feel empowered and motivated by their peers. They are more apt to learn to accept and give constructive criticism. They are also more likely to have an intrinsic desire to learn while developing the empathy necessary to participate in a safe learning environment. I am eager to give students the opportunity to exchange ideas and perspectives while exploring their thinking processes.
