Having these books in my classroom will make a large difference in my students' learning experience. Some of the items on my list are class sets. I will use the two novels The Tale of Despereaux and The City of Ember to read to my students as a whole group. My goal for them is to bond together over the stories and learn life long lessons from them. Aside from these novels, the other books included on my desired list are to create a little library in my classroom. My hope is for students to find themselves as readers and what genres and writing styles they enjoy. I want kids to love what they are reading and crave different stories! When they leave Miss Campbell's room at the end of the year, I want them to have a feeling of who they can be as readers in the years to come!
