I firmly believe that learning can be so much more engaging when done in the company of others. I am asking for donations to purchase several titles of professional books to be used with my colleagues in a book club setting. Teachers will select the specific text that captures their interest and meet regularly for thoughtful discussions. If funded, our deep and reflective conversations around these shared texts will build our own proficiency in teaching effectively. As we grow and learn, the biggest impact will be on the students that we teach. They will will become stronger readers and writers as we put into practice the techniques we learn from these resources. I have chosen text that will stretch our thinking and allow us to address the challenges of teaching the students of today for the world of tomorrow.
