In music-making, particularly in choir or instrumental ensembles, we are divided into different music parts and then have to come together as a whole to create our art. When it comes together, there is nothing greater in the world! We are far better working together than we are alone! As a teacher, I believe in being as inclusive as I can and as a result have many students who do not possess proficient music literacy skills or the ability to play an instrument. So, all of the learning has to come from me. This does cut down on the time I have during class to give individuals and individual sections help. These bluetooth speakers will speed up that process by allowing any student no matter their ability to play piano or their music literacy skills, to use the rehearsal tracks I have provided digitally, play them from the speaker, and work as a team in their individual section. At the same time this section work is happening, I can work with smaller groups alone providing more individualized help. I chose these speakers because they have to have enough power and volume to play over 15-20 or more voices singing at the same time. If we get these bluetooth speakers, it will foster independence and show students how to run an effective rehearsal with the tools they have like their phone or chromebook, provide more individualized attention as a section and from me as the teacher, and promote teamwork and unity!
