These resources will be great in and out of the classroom. If my district goes with a Distance Learning Model, then I will be able to record myself doing these read alouds to get my students excited about reading, while also talking about social justice issues. These beautiful books will help us learn about the experiences and stories of people from diverse backgrounds, while finding ways to connect through our shared humanity. I think they will be an excellent way to launch some important conversations as we work to build a safe and inclusive community in our classroom.
