Ice is one of the most utilized items in the nurse's office for assisting student with injuries. We make ice packs by filling bags with ice and wrapping them in a paper towel. Often students come to school in the morning to have an injury assessed that may have occurred outside of the school setting. Ice is one of the first lines of defense for an acute injury that occurs here at school. We have used ice cube trays in the past for making ice, but we use a substantial amount of ice and have been purchasing ice out of our own personal budgets for the students.
