These books will have a huge impact on my classroom library! I am striving to build a library that is diverse in many ways. First, I want my library to be diverse in books with various text complexity so that each and every student can find a book that they can read successfully. Secondly, I want my students to have a wide variety of books to choose from! Not only do I want my students to leave my classroom as proficient readers, but I want them to love reading. Student choice is huge in this, and I want my classroom library to have all different genres and topics to choose from. Lastly, I want my library to be full of books that reflect cultures and backgrounds that reflect the beautiful diversity of my school and the world around us. With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a diverse collection of books that will further their ability to read and their love of reading as well. There is nothing more exciting than watching a child find a book that they LOVE and watching that love spiral into their reading success!
