This field trip will make a difference in my students learning by connecting all that we have learned throughout the year. We will be participating in the outside bird show, walking the Tropics Trail, and visiting the Penguin Exhibit. We have a class pet called Captain James. However, to be able to see and compare other reptiles would be an amazing opportunity. Animal Classification would have more meaning at the MN Zoo. We have been learning about birds, reptiles, mammals, amphibians, and insects all year. In guided reading we have been able to read many non-fiction books about each animal. This would be the best way to connect our learning in a hands on approach.
