Within the computer classroom, students are taught how to use Microsoft products such as Word, Outlook, and Excel as well as typing skills and other online tools. I have created a curriculum that teaches students how to be safe online and identify misinformation. These skills are essential when training students to be college and career ready. Students can become uncomfortable and unfocused, especially now, when staying seated for extended periods of time. As adults, we can go walk for a moment to clear our mind and “get the wiggles out” while working, but students may not have that opportunity during short class periods. Acquiring these standing desks would provide students with flexible seating options to meet specific needs. Students would be able to focus on the task at hand and learn skills to be successful in the future.
