With increasing high expectations in an ever-increasing technological world, elementary students in our rural area are at times struggling to keep up. As a teacher, I sometimes feel I am struggling with ways to provide the kind of technology to students that will increase their sense of achievement. Support from you could directly result in their building perseverance to meet challenges the world may give them in the future, while also pursuing higher-order tasks and answering questions involving higher-order thinking. It could also impact them later in careers that would require these skills. How do I know this is a problem? I know this is a problem when I am explaining how things like robotics and S.T.E.M. work. I see them get excited and they want desperately to actually use and see for themselves how things like robotics work. How to use science, technology, engineering and math together to watch their ideas come to life. While we do have technology and we provide what we can for our students, having more resources such as these robotics cubes would definitely reach those areas that before we could only talk about.
