When we take tests in my classroom, usually 15 out out of 35 students will actually take the exam while the rest work on collaborative learning and workshops. Having a full set of 35 dividers will allow my students to be able to focus better while taking an exam. My students often complain about the distractions they have while taking a test and would like to have their own space to be able to concentrate better. I am unable to provide this because our space in the classroom is limited. My students would be thrilled to be able to use these dividers if given the chance to have access to them. Currently they are using temporary dividers that I made with recycled folders which are flimsy and not durable. If given the chance to receive this grant, I know that my students will excel and fell better about the work they are doing which will reflect positively on their grades. With the folders, Area Rug, and Ball chairs I receive, I will be able to teach more more in-depth lessons without being a distraction to students who are working on other scaffold work. For an example, I could do a personalized lesson on linear equations and linear systems to give direct instruction to a small group of students who need extra help. The rug can be utilized for students to sit on the floor while working on workshops and looking at feedback on activities they have completed. The others use privacy dividers to work on individualized tests. The biggest learning outcome for this lesson is that students should be able to work at their own pace and accomplish completing their work in different ways.
