Breakout EDU uses the 4 C’s of Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Communication, and Creativity. We currently have two boxes from a separate grant in our district that are well-loved and shared amongst grade levels and buildings. Students get so excited when it is our turn for a Breakout! It enhances working together and thinking critically of all the clues or the time will run out. I would love to add to these boxes so each group of students can have a box to ‘escape from’ within my classroom. They have to work and take risks on different combinations. These puzzles are based on grade-level standards to support our daily curriculum and instruction in the classroom. The locks, blacklight, invisible ink highlighter, and boxes create excitement, curiosity, perseverance and pride in their team as well as themselves.
