The book I am requesting will help my students in a variety of ways. It will improve cultural awareness, employ higher level thinking and discussion, and encourage further reading and research for a class signature assignment. Students will also benefit from examining different points of view (the story is told by five different people in their first person perspective) and in-depth literary analysis. Students will use their analysis and research to create their own short work of fiction from multiple perspectives and include the research they have gathered throughout the semester. While reading the novel, we will use project-based learning to examine and create literary portraits of each character with subtitles.
