Books can be powerful tools for students, both academically and emotionally. I give my middle school and high school students independent reading time in class each week. Many of my students are reluctant readers, and my goal is to help them find books that get them excited to read (whether it be a graphic novel, manga, or an inspiring YA book that connects to their own life). When a student finds a book that interests them, I encourage them to check it out, take it home, and continue reading. My goal is that this library will be beneficial for students, both inside and outside of the classroom.
