My students are from a variety of different economic backgrounds, different cultures, and different types of families and all different academic levels. We are, let's say, an eclectic group. I've taught at 4 schools in our county, and this group of kids stands out from all the rest. They are amazingly compassionate, eager to learn, fun, and proud. A couple of years ago a new administration came into our "D" rated school and turned a misguided school into a focused, cohesive and loving family. We proudly have been an "A" or "B" school with our students buying into the new attitude of Pride, Achieve and Dream, Work Responsibly and Show Respect. They went from wearing pants sagging down, to adhering to a "tucked in" dress code. They went from rolling tardy regularly, to arriving on time and proudly chanting our school cheer every morning after the pledge.
