STEM is today's new math and science. These STEM materials allow students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for what they are creating together in a group or with a buddy in our classroom. During group time students work together in a STEM center based area to create and solve solutions. Currently my students do not have a lot of STEM materials in our classroom to meet these new math and science demands. We only have one STEM center right now where 3-4 students at a time share one code and go mouse during our math and science centers. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice to build a mouse maze with blocks or try to have the mouse follow a specific path on our roadway carpet and with the amount of excitement I see in them at just this one center, I would like to be able to give them more opportunities to create and discover more.
