Research has proven time and time again that reading aloud to students is one of the most effective teaching tools in the classroom. I strive to surround my students with rich texts that are meaningful and allow them experience different genres. I will use each one of these books in a week long focus with engaging lessons and discussions. Students will have the opportunity to analyze the story in many different ways, as well as to read like a writer. Providing these books for our classroom will allow us to keep the books in within our reach all year long.
