As I return to the elementary classroom this fall, I want for my students to have immediate access to as many books as possible. While we have a school library, there isn't always time to venture downstairs in search of a book. This book selection includes books aligned with 4th grade standards and a 4th grade reading level. Having a variety of books at my students' fingertips is incredibly important in building their fluency and love for reading. Time is set aside for independent reaching each day and students often reach for a book to read when they complete an assignment. We often set goals for number of pages or books read each quarter. Having a classroom library would help tremendously in achieving those goals. Seeing students engrossed in a book is an amazing sight for a teacher. I hope to see an abundance of that due to your contribution to our classroom library!
