The Interactive Science Notebook (INB), based on AVID principles, allows 7th graders a perfect way to organize their notes, apply the content that they were just taught, create graphic organizers, and maintain a useful reference that can be used throughout the school year. This being the first year that many 7th graders are taking detailed notes, the Interactive Science Notebook helps prepare them for high school and beyond. Cornell Notes allows them to interact with content by writing relevant questions. The page opposite the notes allow students to create colorful applications of the content. The Interactive Notebook involves gluing materials, coloring diagrams, graphing, etc. These processes use both sides of the brain, better cementing the learning experience for the students.
