Teaching social studies can be a difficult yet exciting subject to teach. I love it because yes there are some set in stone facts that comes with social studies and history, but also room to think forward! My students weren't in existence for 9/11, but they are always fascinated by the events surrounding it. I would like to use the book Nine, Ten to help them understand this horrific event using the characters who may be relatable to them. They may learn, that our differences are what sometimes unites us.
