Incorporating five Acer tablets into my classroom will enable students to read aloud from their guided reading books while recording themselves. This will allow students to listen to themselves read and assess their skills in areas such as accuracy and fluency. Integrating technology will encourage independence while taking responsibility for their reading. My students currently have limited access to technology in the classroom. We have shared laptop carts that students access once a week and students attend computer class once a week. My students are eager to explore digital resources, such as Epic Books for Kids and Book Creator. The availability of tablets in the classroom will allow for consistent interaction while providing a richer learning environment for all.
