Funding this project will allow me to create different spaces in the counseling room to best support the differing needs of the students at my school. I will be able to create a calming corner for students to learn calming strategies and coping skills that can be used throughout life. I will also have a space for small groups focused on social skills, friendship skills, and academic skills (to list a few). By creating different spaces within the counseling room, I will be able to have whole class time, small groups, and individual counseling sessions with the students at my School.
