In our Cougar Room, students who need time to calm down in a safe environment will find a place that has flexible seating, calming atmosphere, caring adults, and social emotional activities. Cougar Pause will be a safe room in the school that is equipped with soft furnishings and soothing materials to help students de-escalate when upset. All our students want to learn but struggle due to the impact trauma has on the brain. Creating a safe place where students can calm down and learn coping skills, will help them become resilient when faced with obstacles so that they have the ability to continue learn.

About my class
