“Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are.” - Mason Cooley This classroom library will allow the students in all of my classes to have access to books beyond our curriculum, books they've never read, but are constantly referenced; books they've loved since childhood. These are books they've only seen the movies of, books they may not have access to otherwise and books that will give them access to more places than they've ever imagined. Every volume in this project will be checked and re-checked out to students who will be required to read at least one unassigned book every term in each of my classes. I have chosen books that span several genres, are a combination of classic and modern fiction and seek to inform students of events of historical importance. These books will appeal to a wide variety of students, helping them to choose wisely, no matter which book they choose. The books from this project will find a home in the built-in shelves next to the door of my classroom. They will be cataloged and well-cared for, but most importantly, they will be read. I can't do it without you. Thank you so much for your support of Mrs. S's Classroom Library!
