Riding a tricycle not only provides fun and physical fitness but also teamwork, problem-solving, and social development. Tricycles provide children with opportunities to learn steering, scooting, climbing off and on, and left and right. As the muscles move through cycling motions, they are flexed, extended and stretched. Children also learn about taking turns, cooperation and coordination. These activities enhance brain development due to crossing the mid line. When children are able to use tricycles they are building gross motor skills which lead to building fine motor skills. If a child does not have proper upper body strength or posture, they may have trouble learning writing. Tricycles are an important stepping stone to growth and early childhood development. Hurricane Harvey directly impacted Texas including the South Texas Region where we live.
