I believe when students have access to current technology they see how their learning connects to their future. Access to a 3D printer in our school would give my students access to technology similar to the neighboring schools which increases their academic success. The 3D printer will allow students to bring their designs and innovations to life. In my classroom, students are encouraged to design 3D models to solve real life problems during our hands on project based learning units. All of the teaching in my classroom is hands on and based on projects that focus on solving real life problems.
