These materials will be used to create a take home activity called "Book Buddies." I will print different reading leveled books on the card stock; each colored card stock will represent different reading levels. For example, green will represent reading level A, pink will represent reading level B...etc. each student will be given a plastic folder pouch, that is where their book will be placed when they take it home. In the pouch I will include instructions printed on card stock on how the book buddy activity will take place. The instructions will also be laminated so that it can last a long time. Students will have different stories to choose from. Each reading level will have 8-10 stories that students can choose from. This activity will not only provide each student with a story to read, but this will help to build and strengthen their reading fluency. Families and parents are also encouraged to participate in this take home activity.
