Our Sensory Library will allow teachers to check out sensory and educational tools for their students when they need them. Tools like noise-buffering headphones and privacy shields can help students focus and blur out distractions. Thinking putty, stress balls and fidgets are great for emotional regulation, focus and brain breaks. Wiggle seats and chair bands help our students move discretely and get out any excess energy. Visual timers help our students with task completion and time management. Lastly, lap desks give students the option of flexible seating. All of our students will benefit from the tools in our Sensory Library. Each child is a unique learner with their own needs in the classroom. As educators, we differentiate our teaching to meet these needs. Sometimes, we need extra tools and supplies to help with meeting our wonderful students where they are at.
