I have a wonderful group of students who are just completing their first year of schooling at an inquiry-based charter school. The school is set up in a loop model and I will teach them again in the next school year. I want to keep learning for my students fresh and exciting but, without financial support for key STEM items, it will be a vision that does not come to reality. The items I have selected are generated from conversations and realms of study that my students have already indicated an interest in. When they come back in for the next school year, it is important to be able to meet some of their many requests for learning extensions. We are a very resourceful group and the students have grown rapidly. My goal is to keep the momentum going while they are at such a high level of natural inquiry. I think it is important to not have passive ideas and take them to action. These items that I have selected will allow them to see many things in a new way and develop new questions that will further them in their level of academic inquiry. This will set them up for success for the long-term since it is a K-8 school.
