My students thrive when given opportunities to move their bodies. At times, the weather, or other building constraints prevents us from being able to utilize the playground or the gymnasium and we use our classroom. The students should have ample opportunity to practice their skills in the areas of catching and throwing, balancing, throwing into containers, kicking, jumping, and hopping. My students love "gym in the classroom!" However, I have found it challenging to keep them engaged and interested with the same materials available to them every time we are in the room. The materials I am requesting will allow a variety to my students so I can rotate materials. Being able to provide my students with a chance to move their bodies and enhance the 7 skills listed above, will not only strengthen their bodies, but it will also help prepare their minds for learning!
