One thing we've learned from virtual learning is that when children have a choice in where they work, they are often more comfortable and able to learn. To help my students focus as they learn and grow, I want to give them the choice of colorful stools, wobble chairs, stimulating wiggle seats, sturdy lap desks, and cozy cushions. Classrooms with flexible seating are spaces where students have autonomy in their environment, are more engaged, and can enjoy more creative collaboration with their peers. I want my classroom to be a place that my students are excited to come to every morning! I want them to feel comfortable in the environment that they spend most of their day in during the weekdays. A cozy space makes a school building feel more like home, and a classroom home will nurture a classroom family. Most of these students spent a year learning at home, much of it looking at a computer screen. These kids are excited to be back in school! Help me to provide the BEST environment for them for this upcoming year!
