Our students love to be read to and to "read" the stories to their friends. With storytelling props they can retell the stories again and again building valuable literacy skills! Being able to retell a story is an important PreK skill that builds the foundation for learning to read. With a listening center, the children can chose their own stories and read whenever they want! Listening to the spoken word and being able to repeat it is a precursor to becoming a writer and reader. We want to give our children a solid literacy foundation and a life long learner.

About my class
