Research shows that strong oral language skills is the foundation for learning to read and write. My first grade students are learning to read and write while also learning a new language, which can be quite challenging. I want to give my students as many opportunities as I can to produce language in meaningful ways. With this project, I hope to build their oral language skills through fun and engaging digital activities. The headsets will allow students to practice speaking and listening while interacting with digital programs such as Wixie or Smart Learning Suite. This practice will also support their success on the annual WIDA Access test!
