As a special education teacher, I service a range of grades. From kinder to 2nd grade, it is apparent. There are significant gaps due to COVID. Not only in academics, but in their SEL skills. How can we bring diverse kids together, and integrate empathy? A story! Reading is a universal language. Sharing a book with a friend, retelling a favorite moment, and the excitement when a child reads their first word! These are things all children deserve. The bookcase and listening center supplies will help me encourage and support a love for reading and understanding.
