There are many different types of learners in my classroom. Some students focus better by standing, while others work best on the floor. Some need to fidget and some need a quiet space. My solution to meet all their needs: Flexible seating! I love the idea that flexibility in a classroom, helps students be more successful. These wonderful learners have special needs that should be embraced in the classroom. In my project, I have included stools to be used at our guided reading and math kidney table. Students have their desks and chairs, seating when with me should be something different and more flexible! Also in my project are bean bag chairs and rocker chairs for our reading nook. These can be used when reading independently or working with a peer. When working, students need clipboards in order to help get their work done. When students are at their desks or working independently, some do best when they have no distractions. Headphones and privacy screens help students focus on their task and ignore any distraction.
