We can grow our brains and be smarter! We are an amazing group of young scientists exploring the potential we all have to learn. We are learning about how our brains function and about having a growth mindset. Our brains have unlimited potential. We are learning how dendrite growth can actually makes us smarter. We can understand that we don't have to fail. In fact, to fail is a first attempt in learning. With each attempt at learning, our brains are creating new neural pathways that allow us to extend our learning. During our Growth Mindset unit on the brain, we use a variety of text and video-based materials and are eager to explore the real brain of a mammal (sheep) to discover similarities and differences with the human brain. Purchasing sheep brains will provide us a hands-on opportunity to examine how the brain. In 6th grade we practice the Growth Mindset which grows our dendrites and realize that anything is possible!
