In 4th grade our Social Studies standards have been switched up this year. Instead of learning about our great state Arizona, we are now going to learn about Jamestown and the history of the 13 colonies. I want my students to be able to journey through Jamestown. Using this novel as a class set will help our book study especially if every student has a copy rather than students just listening to the story. These books will be used every year to help all fourth graders experience the journey of Jamestown. They will take what they learn from this story and write from the perspective of an explorer to show that they are making connections.
