Cell phones can be a constant distraction in the classroom, and as a result, can take away from learning time. In order to lessen the distraction, I want my students to have a place to put their phone that is not a punishment. Students can leave their phone at the back of the room in the charging station while in class. This way, I can teach them, and they are not distracted. By having the charging station, students do not feel like they are being punished by keeping their phone in the back. Instead, they get excited to put their phone on the charger because it means they can use it later. I currently use have one in my room now, but the low-quality dollar store chargers are no longer working, making it so students no longer have a desire to put their phone at the station. With a new, high quality, system and chargers, we can get back into the education without distractions!
