My students will use the Kore Wobble Chairs during small group instruction. The flexible seating I've chosen is comfortable, mobile, and provides a safe (no tipping over) outlet for restlessness and extra energy. Flexible seating also promotes student success for students that face learning challenges when using traditional seating. During Daily 5, students love finding a place in our room to read. Reading bins allow students to take their books anywhere in our room and also teaches students how to keep their books neat and organized. Utilizing book bins ensures students have several book choices available to them while reading. When they finish one book, they simply choose another book from their bin. The alternative is returning the book and selecting another from our classroom library, wasting precious reading time. Students will have days they can return 2 books and "shop" for 2 new books to keep them engaged with fresh material. This will allow them to become fluent readers, increase comprehension and higher-order thinking skills, and develop a love for reading.
