When our students leave school, the first job they encounter will ask them to use various types of technology. They need to have experience using devices they are unfamiliar with that are designed for data collection. These are moderately priced. Using these devices to learn about technology will be advantageous to them in experiences from the entry level jobs at the local shopping center to college science labs. The students will be able to do real time data collection. I am hoping to increase their confidence with increasingly complicated electronic devices of various types. If they begin using these devices in school, I can give them the background information they need to quickly learn to use handheld devices at work or in college.
