Many of my students do not have internet access at home and five Chromebooks give them the opportunity to learn to research safely. It is a chance for them to find the answers to their own questions. When they ask "Why?" now they can go find the answer and share it with everyone instead of expecting me to do it. Deeper Learning involves using 21st-century technology to find answers and learn about people and places around the world. These Chromebooks will allow pairs of students to collaborate on their projects. We do projects on continents, countries, animals, people, and much more throughout the year. In addition to projects, the students will be able to use them daily for literacy and math online practice. Currently, not all students can get on every day because there are not enough computers in the room. With these Chromebooks, everyone will get their chance every day to improve. This is vital for ESL students who are not speaking English outside of school. It is also important for students who need daily practice with math facts. For me, it frees me up to focus on other groups of students.
