Being a first year teacher, I don’t have much in my classroom to stand it out. I am hoping to get some flexible seating options for my students, as well as supplies to help brighten up the room. I am also in need of books to fill my shelves for my students! I am excited to start my year and want to make sure my classroom is bright and exciting and filled with everything the students will need! By having more books in my classroom, I will be able to give my students options of what they can read and challenge them to read books they haven’t read before. I think flexible seating works for most students in a controlled manner and I plan to utilize it mainly during reading time. Having different seating options allow the students to read throughout the room in a comfortable way for them. This will help them be successful in their independent reading goals.
