This year has been very different for us as educators, along with the students whom we teach. Due to the socially distant rules our program needs to follow, we have ten students in our classroom and the rest learning remotely. We are also not allowed to have carpets in our room for the students to sit on during our learning time together. Our Circle Area is where we meet for the majority of the day and the students accomplish most of their learning. Now with no carpet, they are sitting on the cold hard floor, which can become distracting and not as comfortable. These flexible seating materials will help our students become comfortable in our learning area, and also emphasize their place in our circle together as a classroom family. The lap desks will help them achieve their educational activities they need to complete while also being socially distant from the other students. Using these tools will also help give them a variety of their educational spaces in the classroom.
