My students need to be able to have the option to move! We are working to create an environment where students can find a comfortable space that suits their individual learning needs. A change in seating gets them excited to get to work! Do you enjoy sitting in a chair for 6-8 hours a day? Neither do 9 and 10 year olds! A classroom should be a place where students come and feel comfortable in their environment. It should NEVER be a place where they have to come sit in a metal chair for an entire day. While my classroom does have some flexible seating options, I believe this addition of yoga ball chairs will reengage my students in active learning during two of the most critical times of our day. This is a tool that will allow them to move around, and still get down to work!
